Happy 24th!

We were able to spend our 24th of July in escalante again this year. It has quickly became a tradition that Chloe looks forward to every year! I know Jerry would love to go down there alot more during the summer but its so far away. With Jerry being in school and work we usually only make it down once a year. Jerry's mom and dad have a house down there and then we get to visit all the fun places that are around. On our way there we stopped at Bryce Canyon. I think the last time we stopped and actually went through it was when we were dating. Chloe was tired and cranky from the long drive but once she warmed up she had a great time!
Jerry and Chloe hiked down the trail a little ways while Abbie and I stayed up at the top to take pictures!
We also visited Devils Rock Garden on Saturday! This was by far Chloe's favorite. Her and Jerry hiked all the way to the end. I walked for a little while and then Abbie and I turned around, but Chloe made sure she posed by every rock there for a picture so I could see! :) There was so many... I just picked some of my favorites.

I love love love this one of her and Grandpa! Chloe adores her grandpa.
This one she called a snowman! Its fun to see all the different shaped rocks.
Abba didn't love it! I think she felt like she was falling when I set her there! I love it. :)

Jerry and the girls! Aren't they adorable!

On the 24th in Escalante they let fireworks off at every corner in town at like 5 am. Jerry warned me about them the first time he took me there but it still freaks me out! :) This is Chloe and Denton trying to see them out the hotel window!

We usually stay at the house but we thought it would be a little easier at a hotel putting the kids to bed this year. The Sadler's shared a room with us and Chloe was so excited to sleep by Denton.

On the morning of the 24th they have a little parade. Its a really small town so its one of those parades that goes up the road and then back down the road! Grandpa John decided it would be fun to be in it this year so we decorated a little trailer and made some shirts. I got volunteered to get all the stuff for the "float" so the entire trip I was known as the "Parade Coordinator" even though I really didn't do much. We did pink tie dye shirts for everyone since the Escalante house is painted pink and white. It turned out really cute and I think everyone had fun. I know I did!

The picture on the sign is of Jerry's Grandma and Grandpa Haws. Grandma actually grew up in the house and then they bought it years later. The Haws' have been visiting the house every summer since Jerry was 2 or 3 his mom told me. Jerry loves it there, I'm glad our kids will get to make fun memories there like their dad.

Here is everyone before we left for the parade. Do you see where the inspiration for the float came from? Chloe has always called this the pink house!

This was one of our funnest 24th's yet! Maybe its because Chloe is getting bigger or because of all the things we did! I don't know but it was great! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun celebration!

What a fun time. That rock garden looks so amazingly beautiful. I have gone there many times to visit my Grandma but have never done those fun things! Glad you guys had such a nice time.

What fun it was! So glad we all got together and went down. Wish Jes and his fam could be there. Maybe next year. It was tons of fun and great for the Kids to see each other. Thanks for all your hard work, I think it's much more fun to be in the parade then watching from the side.
